Vicente Manzaneque presents memoirs in Alcázar de San Juan
At 98 years old, priest Vicente Manzaneque presented his autobiographical memoirs, ‘Navegar contra corriente’ (Sailing Against the Current), in Alcázar de San Juan. Published by Círculo Rojo, the book has already reached its second edition.
During the presentation held at the City Hall's Salón Noble, Manzaneque explained that the work is not merely a chronological biography, but rather an attempt to document a specific way of facing life's difficulties. He described his philosophy as ‘a style of walking’ characterized by overcoming obstacles and moving forward.
The book highlights his lifelong commitment to the working class and those in need, a path that occasionally led to misunderstanding during his priesthood. The event was attended by local officials, including the Mayor of Alcázar de San Juan, Rosa Melchor, and the Mayor of Campo de Criptana, Santiago Lázaro.
