Vicentinho Júnior launches pre‑campaign tour across Tocantins' Bico do Papagaio region
Vicentinho Júnior, PSDB pre‑candidate for governor of Tocantins, visited ten municipalities in the Bico do Papagaio area between 24 and 25 January, accompanied by vice‑governor candidate Amélio Cayres and Senate candidate Alexandre Guimarães. The tour included stops in Sampaio, Carrasco Bonito, São Sebastião, Esperantina, Buriti do Tocantins, Maurilândia, Itaguatins, Sítio Novo, Axixá and São Miguel do Tocantins, where large crowds gathered. Vicentinho pledged R$ 990 mil for local projects—half for health facilities and half for road paving—promised expanded rural electricity, and advocated using the Tocantins River for regional transport.
At the São Miguel event, Vicentinho recalled choosing the town to raise his family and presented a platform focused on professional qualification, first‑job creation, entrepreneurship support and strengthening regional hospitals. Amélio Cayres reinforced his long‑standing support in the Grota do Meio district, a key electoral base for the ticket.
