Vicenza police rescue 17-year-old kidnapped for extortion

Police in Vicenza have rescued a 17-year-old boy who was kidnapped for extortion. The teenager, a resident of Bonate Sotto in the Bergamo province, was reportedly approached near a pizzeria and forced into a vehicle.

Investigators determined that the kidnapping was linked to a demand for money involving a previous transaction of counterfeit banknotes. The victim's mother alerted authorities after receiving messages from her son that indicated he was in danger.

Using mobile phone geolocalization, the Polizia di Stato successfully tracked the teenager to a facility in the Vicenza area. Two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested on charges of kidnapping for the purpose of extortion. The suspects reportedly have prior criminal records involving theft and robbery.
