Vicky Fleissa discusses career and Mikis Theodorakis interview

Journalist Vicky Fleissa shared insights into her career during a rare television appearance on the program ‘Studio 4’. Discussing her return to ERT with a new show, Fleissa reflected on her professional journey and her views on language, noting that as a philologist, she finds spelling errors ‘unattractive’ but works hard not to let them create negative prejudices.

Fleissa identified her interview with the late Mikis Theodorakis as the most demanding of her career. This project, referred to as the ‘Mikia,’ spanned five episodes and approximately 13 hours of filming. To prepare, Fleissa studied all of Theodorakis’s books and provided his secretary with a 14-page document outlining the discussion points. She recalled Theodorakis’s reaction to her extensive preparation, noting his surprise at the depth of her research.
