Vicky Kaushal to bulk up over 25 kg for mythological film Mahavatar

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is preparing to add more than 25 kg of muscle to portray the warrior Parashurama in the upcoming mythological film Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. He will begin an intensive training programme in September ahead of a December shoot, working with fitness coach Tejas Lalwani, who previously guided his 25‑kg weight gain for the 2025 release Chhaava.

The transformation plan focuses on heavy compound exercises, increased calorie intake and recovery, aiming for a broad chest and functional strength to match the traditional depiction of Parashurama. In addition to the physical conditioning, Kaushal will learn archery to authentically perform the role’s combat sequences.

The effort builds on his earlier bulk‑up, where he increased his weight from 80 kg to 105 kg for Chhaava, and seeks to create a commanding screen presence for the ancient deity described as towering and invincible.
