Vicky Kavallari named New Democracy candidate for East Attica

Lawyer and former regional official Vicky Kavallari has been selected by New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis to run as a parliamentary candidate for East Attica in the 2027 national elections.

Kavallari transitions to national politics following a career in local government. In the 2023 regional elections, she was elected as the top regional councilor for East Attica with the ‘Attiki Mprosta’ combination led by Nikos Hardalias. She subsequently served as the Deputy Regional Governor of East Attica from January 2024 until September 2025.

Her candidacy is viewed as a strategic move by New Democracy to strengthen its local presence with experienced administrators. Her entry into the race is noted to potentially shift the competitive landscape for other candidates in the East Attica region.
