Vico C recovers after cervical spine surgery in Colombia

Puerto Rican rapper Vico C is recovering following a cervical spine surgery performed on October 7 at the Hospital San Vicente de Paúl in Rionegro, Colombia. The procedure was necessitated by a diagnosis of spinal cord compression at the cervical level, a condition that threatened several segments of his vertebral column.

Led by neurosurgeon Rubén de Jesús Ramírez, the surgical team performed a cervical canal decompression and an arthrodesis of the C2 to C7 vertebral levels. The operation aimed to relieve nerve compression, correct deformities, and provide spinal stability. Dr. Ramírez reported that the surgery was successful, preserving the artist's motor and sensory functions, and noted that Vico C is in excellent clinical condition with a positive neurological prognosis.

Vico C expressed deep gratitude to God, his medical team, and his family in a statement, noting that he must now focus on following medical recommendations for his recovery. His wife, Sonia Torres, has also shared updates regarding his progress and the challenges of his rehabilitation process.
