ViCon GmbH launches SharePoint-based document management services

ViCon GmbH, the developer of process management software viflow, has launched new services to assist companies in transitioning from traditional file servers to Microsoft SharePoint-based document management systems.

The service aims to help organizations meet structured requirements for managing documented information, such as those mandated by ISO 9001. By utilizing SharePoint, companies can address common issues found in file-server environments, including version control errors, unverified document copies in emails, and difficulty identifying approved files.

Key features of the SharePoint solution include automatic versioning, defined approval workflows, and the use of metadata for easier document filtering, replacing deep folder structures. ViCon also offers the option to link SharePoint storage with its viflow software to integrate work instructions and forms directly into business processes.
