Victor Angobaldo dies in traffic crash on Panamericana Sur in Cañete, Peru
Victor Angobaldo Ávila, a 63‑year‑old Peruvian entrepreneur and television personality known as “Chocolatito,” was killed in a traffic accident on the Panamericana Sur highway. The crash occurred at kilometre 128 near Cerro Azul in the province of Cañete, Lima region, when his vehicle spun multiple times and was left overturned on the side of the road.
Angobaldo was rushed to Hospital Regional Rezola in Cañete but arrived without vital signs and was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries. Police officers secured the scene and the Public Ministry opened an investigation into the cause of the accident.
He first gained national fame in 2009 through appearances on Magaly TV and other entertainment programs, and later became known for his relationship with former cheerleader Shirley Cherres. Actress Patricia Alquinta announced his death on the TV show “Show.pe,” describing the loss as a mourning for the entertainment community.
