Victor Anichebe leads bid to acquire English League One club Bromley

Former Nigeria international striker Victor Anichebe is reported to be heading a takeover of Bromley FC, the South London club that has just earned promotion to League One, the third tier of English football. Negotiations are ongoing with the club’s majority owner Robin Stanton‑Gleaves, and the proposed deal would provide the financial backing needed for Bromley to compete at the higher level.

Anichebe, now the owner of the investment firm Lumira Group, has previously supported a £20 million leisure‑development project near Liverpool, underscoring his capacity to fund the acquisition. Sources say he may already be influencing Bromley’s summer recruitment, which has seen the signings of forward Victor Adeboyejo and defender Richard Taylor on loan.

The potential change of ownership comes as Bromley prepares for its inaugural season in League One, seeking to strengthen its squad and infrastructure after rapid ascents through the lower divisions.
