Victor Froholdt hospitalized after concussion in FC Porto match

FC Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt was hospitalized after suffering a concussion during a Primeira Liga match against Moreirense. The 20-year-old Dane lost consciousness following a violent collision with Moreirense player Guilherme Liberato, who received a straight red card for the incident.

Medical examinations at Hospital de São João in Porto showed no major complications or anomalies, and Froholdt was discharged on Saturday morning. However, due to UEFA and FIFA concussion protocols, the player must undergo a gradual return-to-play process involving several stages of recovery.

As a result, Froholdt is expected to miss FC Porto’s upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture against Manchester City. His availability for subsequent matches remains uncertain as he follows the mandatory medical monitoring period.
