Victor Glover transitions to Cal Poly leadership after Artemis II mission

NASA astronaut Victor Glover has transitioned to emeritus status following his role as pilot for the Artemis II mission, which completed the first crewed lunar orbit in over 50 years. While moving away from active astronaut duties, Glover will maintain a formal relationship with NASA as a specialized consultant through the agency’s emeritus program.

Glover has accepted a full-time leadership position at his alma mater, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). Serving as an executive advisor to University President Jeff Armstrong, he will focus on strategic initiatives, partnerships, and fundraising. His mandate includes advancing STEM education and fostering collaborations in fields such as aerospace, engineering, aviation, and applied computing to prepare future generations of professionals.
