Victor Ibarbo joins ASD Calcio San Cataldo in Italian Eccellenza

Former Serie A forward Victor Ibarbo has signed with ASD Calcio San Cataldo in the Eccellenza Basilicata division. The 36-year-old Colombian winger joins the club following a brief tenure with Pontedera in Serie D.

Ibarbo’s time with Pontedera lasted less than a month. After arriving in Tuscany on September 11, 2026, he made three substitute appearances totaling 159 minutes without scoring a goal. His departure from the club followed a change in sporting management, where Paolo Giovannini replaced Simone Quintieri.

The transfer to San Cataldo is a permanent move. Under head coach Domenico Giacomarro, the club aims for promotion. Ibarbo’s career has previously included stints with high-profile clubs such as Cagliari, Roma, Watford, Panathinaikos, and Sagan Tosu.
