Victor Ibarbo returns to Italy with Pontedera

Former Serie A striker Victor Ibarbo has returned to Italian football, joining Pontedera in Serie D. The Colombian player cited strong emotional ties and friendships within the country as the primary reasons for his decision to return to Italy, despite playing in a lower division.

Reflecting on his career, Ibarbo noted that his fame was significantly bolstered by his inclusion in the FIFA 15 video game. He also recalled his 2015 transfer from Cagliari to AS Roma, mentioning that Inter Milan had expressed interest in him at the time.

Ibarbo expressed satisfaction with his new environment at Pontedera, where he has reunited with coach Giuseppe Mascara, a former player he previously encountered during their time in Serie A.
