Victor Mătrăgună poised to join Moldova's parliament after court validation
On 4 August, Moldova's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) submitted a request to the Constitutional Court to validate the deputy mandate of Victor Mătrăgună. Mătrăgună, an alternate candidate on the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) list, will replace Victoria Belous in the Legislative Assembly after Belous resumed the post of Minister of Finance for a second term.
Mătrăgună is a jurist and heads the Orhei Territorial Office of the State Chancellery. In his 2025 asset declaration he reported a gross salary of 288,018 lei, a foreign pension of €16,101, ownership of 41 parcels of land (effective ownership of two), a 48‑square‑metre apartment valued at 1.34 million lei, a 2007 Seat Leon worth €16,500, a trailer valued at 5,000 lei, and a 100 % share in a retail‑trade SRL. He also listed a domestic loan of 350,000 lei and a foreign loan of €128,000.
