Victor Oladipo asks NBA teams for another chance in open letter

Former NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo has issued an open letter to NBA general managers, requesting an opportunity to return to the league. Published via The Players' Tribune, the 34-year-old athlete expressed confidence in his physical health following a series of significant injuries that have hindered his career.

Oladipo, who was a standout for the Indiana Pacers and earned Most Improved Player honors in the 2017-18 season, has struggled with major setbacks, including a ruptured quad tendon in 2019 and a torn patellar tendon in 2023. He has not played more than 42 games in a single season since 2018.

In his letter, Oladipo stated, “I believe my body is finally right,” and emphasized his desire to be a valuable contributor to an NBA locker room. Despite a stint in the G League and private workouts this past summer, he has yet to secure a roster spot. He concluded by thanking front offices for considering his story.
