Victor Osimhen drops to fifth most valuable African player

Victor Osimhen has fallen to fifth place on Transfermarkt’s list of Africa’s most valuable footballers. The Nigerian striker, currently valued at €75 million, follows Yan Diomande (€90m), Achraf Hakimi (€80m), Antoine Semenyo (€80m), and Ayyoub Bouaddi (€80m).

Despite the drop in continental ranking, Osimhen has maintained strong performance levels at Galatasaray, recording four goals and one assist in his first two matches of the 2026/27 season. He remains the most valuable Nigerian footballer and the highest-valued player in the Turkish Super Lig.

Globally, Osimhen is ranked as the 20th most valuable forward and the eighth most valuable pure centre-forward. Major clubs, including Arsenal and Al Hilal, are reportedly monitoring the 27-year-old as potential transfer targets.
