Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen returned to Turkey on a private jet shared with Nigerian businessman Tony Elumelu, using the journey to discuss football, business and personal matters. He is set to rejoin Galatasaray for the club’s pre‑season preparations ahead of the 2026/27 campaign and will report to training on Friday.

Galatasaray, eager to keep the Super Eagles star amid interest from European and Middle‑East clubs, announced that it is targeting Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde as a marquee signing. The move is intended to demonstrate the club’s ambition and persuade Osimhen to stay in Istanbul. The Turkish side has also secured an agreement for French midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, further bolstering its squad.

The combined efforts aim to strengthen the team for domestic title defence and a deeper run in the UEFA Champions League.
