Victor Osimhen's Premier League move stalled by factors beyond money, says Andy Cole
Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has suggested that factors beyond transfer fees and wages are preventing Premier League clubs from signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Despite long-standing interest from major English clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, the Super Eagles forward has yet to move to England.
Osimhen, who previously won Serie A with Napoli, is currently playing for Galatasaray. Cole noted that the striker’s proven ability to score in both Italy and Turkey demonstrates he has the necessary qualities for English football. However, Cole emphasized that complex variables often influence international transfers beyond simple financial considerations.
Osimhen’s current situation at Galatasaray involves a significant financial commitment. Following a €75 million permanent transfer from Napoli, the striker is reportedly on a contract that includes a €15 million net annual salary, a €1 million loyalty bonus, and €5 million per season in image-rights payments.
