Victor Socaciu death case: Court orders new medical expertise

The legal battle surrounding the death of artist Victor Socaciu has entered a new phase following a decision by the Constanța Tribunal. The court has ordered the removal of a previous medico-legal expertise report that had failed to establish a causal link between a contested medical intervention and the artist's death five years ago.

The family of the deceased, including his widow Brândușa Socaciu and daughter Ana Maria, challenged the original report due to concerns regarding the expert's impartiality. Specifically, it was noted that the expert had previously expressed opinions on the case during a disciplinary procedure.

A new forensic medical expertise will be conducted to determine the true cause of death and investigate potential medical malpractice. Brândușa Socaciu stated that the fight for the truth is just beginning, while former wife Marina Almășan noted that the artist's health status and the pandemic period should be considered in the investigation.
