Victor Wembanyama leads Spurs teammates in Paris training camp

San Antonio forward Victor Wembanyama took a large portion of his team to Paris for a week‑long off‑season mini‑camp at the Nanterre 92 facilities. The group, which included De’Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes, Jordan McLaughlin, Tobias Harris, Kelly Olynyk and others, worked together on conditioning and team cohesion well before the usual pre‑season schedule.

Spurs CEO R. C. Buford praised Wembanyama’s leadership, saying the respect he commands is why ten players flew halfway around the world to train together. The camp follows Wembanyama’s recent health challenges, including treatment for a shoulder blood clot that ended his 2024‑25 season, and his intensive conditioning program that has featured training with Shaolin monks.

NBA analyst Vince Goodwill warned that the league’s other 29 teams should be “very afraid” of what Wembanyama may achieve as he continues to develop after a strong 2025‑26 season in which he earned Defensive Player of the Year and All‑NBA First Team honors.
