The win ended the Knicks' 13‑game winning streak and made Wembanyama the second‑youngest player to record at least 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a Finals game, a feat not achieved since Magic Johnson in 1980.

A group of Catholic sisters from the Salésiennes de Saint‑Jean Bosco convent in San Antonio, known as the “Spurs Nuns,” were highlighted for their long‑standing devotion to the team. The nuns, who have followed the Spurs for more than two decades and even visited the team’s locker room in 2007, wore black Spurs jerseys during the game, symbolising their continued support for the franchise.
