Victor Wembanyama named the new face of the NBA by Stephen A. Smith

Stephen A. Smith has suggested that the NBA has entered the ‘Wemby era,’ identifying Victor Wembanyama as the current face of the league. While Smith acknowledged LeBron James remains the preeminent figure due to his two-decade resume and historical credentials, he noted that Wembanyama has arrived as a cultural successor.

Wembanyama recently led the San Antonio Spurs to a Western Conference title and a 62-win season, ultimately falling to the New York Knicks in a five-game NBA Finals series. During the Finals, Wembanyama averaged 26.0 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game. Despite the loss, his performance solidified his status as a rising superstar in the league.
