Victor Wembanyama supports French student protests

NBA star Victor Wembanyama has expressed his support for students participating in widespread protests across France. The demonstrations, which began in September, involve tens of thousands of young people demanding better educational conditions, improved school infrastructure, and more equal opportunities.

According to the French Ministry of the Interior, approximately 71,500 people participated in nationwide protests on Thursday, October 8, including 24,500 in Paris. The movement has been driven by teacher shortages and systemic inequalities. Wembanyama, who attended school in Nanterre, noted that the issues are deeply rooted and stated, “I hear them and I support them, and I hope the people who are up there do the same.”
