Victoria Angelova named European Athletics Rising Star

Seventeen-year-old Bulgarian triple jumper Victoria Angelova has been awarded the prestigious ‘European Athletics Rising Star’ award for 2026. The announcement was made during the Golden Tracks gala in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Angelova is the first Bulgarian athlete to receive this specific honor since its inception in 2007. She secured the title ahead of Czech runner Linda Botkova and Slovenian athlete Živa Remič.

The award follows a highly successful season for the athlete, who won the European U18 triple jump title in Rieti, Italy, with a championship record of 13.98 meters. She also secured a world title in the U20 category in Eugene, USA, with a jump of 13.91 meters.
