Victoria announces new grants for live music and anti-racism initiatives

The Victorian Government has opened new grant applications for two distinct community support programs.

Through the 10,000 Gigs: The Victorian Gig Fund, live music venues and eligible spaces can apply for grants of up to $11,000. This funding, delivered via Music Victoria, aims to support up to 20 paid performances by local artists between December 2026 and June 2027. The initiative is part of a $35.4 million live music package and is open to licensed venues as well as non-traditional performance spaces.

Separately, the Local Anti-Racism Initiatives grant program is offering $1.15 million to support community-led projects. Grants of up to $40,000 are available for First Peoples, multicultural, and multifaith organisations to develop initiatives that address racism and strengthen community understanding. This program is a component of Victoria’s Anti-Racism Strategy 2024-2029 and focuses on increasing public awareness, promoting First Peoples’ history, and building local capacity to respond to discrimination.
