Victoria Carl prepares for return to cross-country skiing

German cross-country skier Victoria Carl is preparing for a return to professional competition following the expiration of her doping suspension on November 25. Due to the suspension, her FIS points have lapsed, meaning she is currently ineligible to compete directly in the World Cup.

To regain eligibility, Carl must first compete in lower-level FIS races to earn the necessary points. She is expected to participate in the Norges Cup in Gålå, Norway, from November 27 to 29. Success in these races could potentially allow her to compete in upcoming World Cup events in Trondheim or Davos.

In a recent interview, Carl addressed the emotional toll of her suspension, which resulted from a positive test for Clenbuterol in early 2025. She expressed regret over trusting a medical professional regarding the substance and noted that she avoided watching the Olympic Games to protect her mental well-being. Despite the challenges, Carl has reported strong physical performance in recent training tests.
