Victoria expands legal support services for citizens

The Victorian Government has announced a $14.5 million investment over five years to enhance legal support for residents. A key component of this initiative is the launch of a new Domestic Building Legal Service, which will be rolled out in phases starting in 2026. In partnership with Justice Connect and the Consumer Action Law Centre, the service will provide legal information, tailored advice, and direct advocacy for homeowners facing disputes with builders at any stage of the construction process.

Additionally, Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) has officially opened a new office in Frankston located at 405 Nepean Highway. The facility is designed to provide a more accessible and inclusive environment for clients seeking free legal information, representation, and dispute resolution. VLA reported assisting nearly 4,500 people in the Frankston region during the last financial year.
