Victoria government hosts zumbatón to promote breast cancer prevention
More than 300 women participated in the “Hazlo por Ti” (Do it for You) mega zumbatón at the Paseo Méndez esplanade in Ciudad Victoria. Held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event aimed to promote physical activity, self-examination, and early detection of the disease.
Lorena Zapata Medina, the Municipal Secretary of Social Welfare, led the event on behalf of Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez. The initiative focused on fostering social awareness and solidarity with those currently fighting the disease, survivors, and those who have passed away.
In addition to the dance routines, the event promoted a plastic bottle cap donation campaign. The resources collected from these donations are used to support prevention efforts and assist patients in the fight against breast cancer.
