Victoria government to report cable theft at Paseo Méndez

The Government of Victoria in Tamaulipas will file a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's Office following the theft of public lighting cables at Paseo Méndez. The incident involved cut cables and damaged connections, leaving the area without proper illumination.

Carlos Charles Ortiz, Head of Public Services, stated that the municipal administration, under the direction of Mayor Lalo Gattás, intends to pursue criminal investigations for these recurring acts of vandalism. Officials noted that the theft causes direct damage to municipal finances due to replacement costs and compromises public safety by affecting the lighting in a space frequently used by families.

The local government has urged citizens to report any suspicious activity to the 911 emergency line to help identify those responsible for damaging public infrastructure.
