Victoria Hospitals Foundation raises $38 million for surgical campaign

The Victoria Hospitals Foundation has successfully raised $38 million during the second phase of its 'It’s Time For Surgical Evolution' campaign. This phase, which began in October 2025, was supported by 4,700 donors.

The funds are earmarked for significant technological upgrades across regional medical facilities. Key investments include a second da Vinci surgical robot at Victoria General Hospital (VGH) to expand minimally invasive care in pediatrics, gynecology, and general surgery. Additionally, the foundation will purchase a $5.9 million neurosurgical robot for VGH and allocate $6.4 million toward new oncology equipment for both VGH and Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH).

Foundation CEO Avery Brohman noted that these innovations, which include over 100 physician-prioritized tools, are intended to improve surgical precision, reduce cancellations, and enhance patient outcomes across the region's 30 operating rooms.
