Victoria hosts training session on elderly rights

Approximately 80 participants attended a debate and training session focused on the rights of older persons in Victoria, Entre Ríos. The event was organized by the Ministerial Unit of Programs and Health Policies for Older Persons and the Dr. Fermín V. Salaberry Hospital, both under the Entre Ríos Ministry of Health.

Held at the Club Atlético Sarmiento, the session was declared of Ministerial Interest via Resolution N° 4804/26 and supported by the Argentine Nursing Network for Older Adult Health (ESAM). The training targeted health professionals, social organizations, caregivers, nursing students, and the general community.

Discussions centered on promoting dignity, inclusion, and autonomy in aging. Participants analyzed everyday situations to reflect on age-related stereotypes and interventions that, despite being intended as care, may inadvertently restrict essential rights. Lorena Casotti, head of the ministerial area, emphasized the importance of these spaces to review practices and strengthen a perspective that prioritizes the decision-making rights of older adults.
