Canadian tennis player Victoria Mboko is adopting a new perspective on her recovery following a season-ending left knee injury sustained in June 2026. After breaking into the WTA Top 10 at age 19, Mboko’s rapid ascent was halted by the injury, which also forced her and Serena Williams to withdraw from their doubles partnership at Queen’s Club after reaching the quarterfinals.

Mboko has credited Williams with helping her reframe the injury not as a setback, but as an opportunity to address weaknesses in her game that are often difficult to manage during a dense competitive schedule. Mboko intends to use the period away from the tour to set new goals and return to competition with greater strength and ambition.
