Victoria Monét credits Nas with helping launch her music career

During an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, Grammy Award-winning singer Victoria Monét credited rapper Nas with helping to launch her music career. Monét explained that she initially focused on becoming a sought-after hook and chorus singer to build a foundation for her solo career, a strategy inspired by the trajectory of Bruno Mars.

Monét revealed that Nas included her vocals on his tenth studio album, ‘Life Is Good’, for the track ‘You Wouldn’t Understand’. Beyond the studio recording, Nas also invited her to perform with him on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ in 2013. Monét noted that the encouragement from established artists like Nas was instrumental in building her professional confidence.
