Victoria police recover stolen e-bike for local woman

A Victoria woman, Angela Gabaldon, has had her stolen Pedego e-bike returned by the Victoria Police Department nearly two months after the theft. The bright red bicycle, which Gabaldon nicknamed Bella, was stolen on August 31 from her downtown condo building’s underground parking garage.

The theft occurred during a series of two break-ins within a single week. In the first incident, thieves gained access to the garage by cutting aluminum wiring on the door, stealing three bicycles including Gabaldon’s. A second theft occurred the following Sunday, during which two more bikes and a bicycle trailer were taken.

Gabaldon, who uses the electric assistance to manage osteoarthritis, had provided police with the bike’s serial number and identifying details. The recovered e-bike was returned to the police department with its leather panniers intact.
