University of Victoria responds to actor Hudson Williams' city critiques
The University of Victoria (UVic) has issued a playful social media response to Hudson Williams, the star of the popular hockey romance series ‘Heated Rivalry’. While promoting his new drama ‘Yaga’, which was filmed in the region, Williams made several tongue-in-cheek remarks regarding Victoria, describing the city as a place primarily for retirees and bingo.
In response to the actor's comments, UVic released a video highlighting the diverse attractions of Greater Victoria, including its shorelines, forests, and live music scene. The university concluded the video with a humorous nod to Williams' remarks by featuring a clip of drag queen bingo, captioned: “Hudson, it’s not just bingo…it’s drag bingo, okay?”.
Williams had previously made similar lighthearted jabs during a fashion show in Paris, though he later expressed affection for the city on social media, noting that the combination of nature and community made it feel like home.
