Victoria Royals acquire Savin Virk from Tri-City Americans

The Victoria Royals have acquired forward Savin Virk from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for forward Eli McKamey and several draft picks.

Virk, 19, joins the Royals after leading the Americans in goals, assists, and points during the 2025-26 Western Hockey League season, where he recorded 27 goals and 38 assists for 65 points in 66 games. He has accumulated 111 career WHL points in 116 games.

In return, the Royals have sent McKamey to Tri-City. McKamey recorded 17 points in 48 games for Victoria last season. Royals general manager Jake Heisinger stated that Virk is a top player who will be a significant part of the team, while noting that the move provides McKamey the opportunity to take on an offensive role during his draft year.
