Victoria surpasses 1 million cruise passengers in single season
The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) announced that Victoria has surpassed one million cruise passengers in a single season for the first time. The milestone was reached with the arrival of the Norwegian Encore at Ogden Point.
The 2026 season has also set a new record for cruise ship visits. The GVHA expects a total of 332 cruise ship calls by the end of the season on October 18, surpassing the previous high of 329 calls recorded in 2022. This growth follows a steady increase in passenger numbers over recent years, including 989,950 passengers in 2025.
To mark the achievement, a celebration was held at the cruise terminal involving local officials and representatives from the Songhees Nation. The season will conclude with the arrival of the National Geographic Venture on October 18.
