Victoria Tech Week to showcase local technology sector

Victoria Tech Week will take place from September 21 to 25, featuring 50 free events across Greater Victoria. The initiative aims to showcase the local technology industry through workshops, panels, product demonstrations, and networking opportunities.

Organized by the Victoria Innovation, Advanced Technology & Entrepreneurship Council (VIATEC) and Marc Stoiber, the week includes diverse activities such as AI workshops, marine technology demonstrations in the harbour, and events at the University of Victoria. Rather than a single centralized conference, the event utilizes various local facilities and hubs, including Fort Tectoria, COAST Ocean Innovation Hub, Infusion Play, and North House Victoria.

The region’s technology sector is a significant economic driver, generating nearly $6 billion annually with an economic impact of approximately $8 billion and employing over 20,000 people.
