Victoria Villarruel advocates for industrialization and SME support in Madrid

Argentine Vice President Victoria Villarruel advocated for industrialization and state support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the XII Ibero-American Parliamentary Forum in Madrid. Speaking before the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Villarruel emphasized that technological innovation, particularly Artificial Intelligence, must place the human worker at its center to prevent deepening inequality.

Villarruel’s remarks regarding the need for bold state intervention and public policies to support SMEs and federal development contrast with the current economic direction of President Javier Milei’s administration. She argued that economic transfers and subsidies cannot replace the dignity of work, which she described as the foundation of Ibero-American development.

During her visit to Spain, Villarruel met with King Felipe VI and held meetings with parliamentary representatives from Paraguay, Chile, and the European Union.
