Victoria Woods criticizes Claressa Shields over biopic casting choices

Victoria Woods, known online as BroRilla, has publicly criticized professional boxer Claressa Shields regarding her hypothetical casting choices for a future biopic. The dispute arose after Shields stated in an interview that she would like Angela Bassett to portray her older self and Morris Chestnut to play her partner, Papoose.

Woods, who is the sister of rapper GloRilla, released a video questioning the logic of Shields’ selections, suggesting that the athlete was reaching for “real-deal icons” that do not match her. Woods specifically noted there was “no comparison” between Morris Chestnut and Papoose.

The tension between the two has been ongoing, with Shields previously labeling Woods a “clout chaser” following comments made about the boxer’s appearance. Shields’ first biopic, “The Fire Inside,” was released in late 2024, starring Ryan Destiny.
