Victorian Transport Association welcomes new state transport ministers
The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) praised Premier Ben Carroll’s announcement of a new Victorian Cabinet, highlighting the continuity of key transport portfolios. VTA chief executive Peter Anderson welcomed the retention of Melissa Horne as Minister for Ports and Freight, noting the certainty it provides for the state’s freight and logistics sector. The association also welcomed Paul Hamer as Minister for Roads and Road Safety, Jaclyn Symes as Minister for Energy, Resources, Climate Action and Environment, and Colin Brooks as Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations. Anderson said effective collaboration between government and industry is essential to keep supply chains moving, support exporters and sustain economic growth across Victoria.
