Victorville crash kills two teenagers after vehicle splits in half

Two teenage best friends, 16-year-old Isabell DeLand and 17-year-old Maddalyn Dailey, were killed in a violent three-car collision in Victorville, California, on Friday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the teenagers were traveling in an Acura TL when they were struck by a speeding Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Camaro. The impact was so severe that it split the Acura in half, killing both girls instantly. Authorities noted that the two other vehicles were reportedly speeding in a 55-mph zone.

One driver has been charged with manslaughter and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators. However, another driver allegedly fled the scene on foot, leaving a minor behind. Families of the victims are currently seeking public assistance to help identify the individual who fled.

In the wake of the tragedy, GoFundMe campaigns have been established to assist the families of DeLand and Dailey with funeral and memorial expenses. The victims had both recently begun their senior year of high school.
