Brazil hosts diverse theatrical and dance performances in September

Various cultural and theatrical productions are scheduled across Brazil throughout September.

In Feira de Santana, the play ‘Braseiro’ explores patriarchal violence and family dynamics, while the Orquestra Juvenil Itinerante da EMUC presents ‘Concerto Afrobrasileirando’ to celebrate African contributions to Brazilian music. In Recife, the production ‘Ombela’ features Angolan poetry and explores feminine archetypes.

Other notable events include the children's play ‘Neguinha, Sim!’ at Sesc Guarulhos, which focuses on Black identity and self-esteem. In Trindade, the multidisciplinary show ‘Vida de Negro’ addresses Afro-Brazilian memory and ancestry.

In Contagem, Grupo Trama de Teatro presents ‘Encruzilhada,’ a surrealist piece examining environmental crises and human consumption. The Semana Paulista de Dança will take place at MASP in São Paulo, featuring twelve performances from prestigious dance companies. Additionally, the Cia Jovem Ballet Manguinhos will debut ‘Outros futuros’ in Duque de Caxias, and comedian Max Petterson will perform in Fortaleza.
