Video game industry highlights: NBA 2K27 and new RPG releases

The gaming industry saw a diverse range of new releases and featured titles between late August and early September 2026. Major highlights include the global release of NBA 2K27 by 2K on September 4.

In the indie and specialized sectors, several notable titles emerged. The Blood of Dawnwalker, an RPG developed by former Witcher 3 staff, received high praise for its quality. The Onimusha series continues with Way of the Sword, focusing on swordplay action. Other featured titles include the urban open-world game ANANTA, the gravity-defying puzzle game He Who Watches, and the cooperative title Orbitals.

Numerous smaller releases were also documented, including Combolands on Steam, the survival strategy game Infection Free Zone, and the mobile title Bonjour Snack Shop. Additionally, Colopl released the browser-based Active Cinema RPG 369, and Com2uS brought Zenonia 1 to Steam.
