Video game industry: New releases and PlayStation 6 hardware rumors

The gaming industry is seeing a diverse range of new releases across multiple platforms for the week of November 2 to November 8, 2026. Notable upcoming titles include a new version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 and World of Warcraft: Forever for PC. The schedule also features various action, fighting, and adventure games, alongside remasters and continuations of established franchises.

Regarding future hardware, rumors and leaks concerning the PlayStation 6 suggest Sony may continue the strategy of using a standardized M.2 NVMe SSD expansion slot. If reports regarding the KeplerL2 internal architecture are accurate, the console could adopt a PCIe 5.0 x4 data transfer bus. This would potentially allow for sequential read speeds of up to 14,900 MB/s, roughly doubling the performance of the PlayStation 5. Additionally, the hardware is expected to maintain backward compatibility with existing PCIe 4.0 SSDs from the previous generation.
