Vidyut Jammwal to debut in Hollywood film Street Fighter

Indian actor Vidyut Jammwal is set to make his Hollywood debut in the upcoming action film ‘Street Fighter’, based on the popular video game franchise. Jammwal will portray the character Dhalsim, a role he noted felt natural due to his lifelong training in the martial art Kalaripayattu, which he has practiced since the age of three.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film features an ensemble cast including Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. The story is set in 1993 and follows Ryu and Ken as they are drawn into a World Warrior Tournament involving a deadly conspiracy.

During a press event in Mumbai hosted by Paramount Pictures India, Jammwal discussed his career journey and his philosophy of approaching life and martial arts with a focus on perfecting every individual moment, or ‘scene’.
