Vienna and Munich announce 2026 beer festivals

The Ottakringer Brauerei in Vienna will host its annual Bierfest from 2 July to 4 September 2026. The free‑entry event will feature more than 20 Ottakringer beers, culinary stalls, live music on the festival stage, and activities such as beer‑yoga, pub quizzes and table‑tennis. A record‑attempt on 1 August will try to pour over 600 beers simultaneously.

Munich’s Oide Wiesn, a historic version of the Oktoberfest, is scheduled for 19 September to 4 October 2026 on the southern part of the Theresienwiese. The fair will offer classic rides from the early 20th century, three traditional tents with live brass, folk and Bavarian music, and admission at €4 for adults, free for children under 14. Historic attractions include the 1919 “Kettenflieger Kalb” swing ride, a restored 1939 “Fahrt ins Paradies” coaster and a 1970 circus wagon.

Both festivals aim to blend beer culture with local entertainment, targeting families and visitors seeking a more relaxed alternative to larger events.
