Vienna and Nabburg establishments preserve coffee house traditions

Traditional coffee house culture is being maintained and reimagined through different approaches in Vienna and Nabburg.

In Vienna, the historic Café Landtmann, which has been owned by the city since 1873, is introducing a new evening concept titled “Landtmann by Night.” The initiative aims to modernize the atmosphere with Art Deco projections, live music featuring jazz and soul, and a menu that interprets Viennese classics through contemporary culinary lenses, such as truffle-infused egg noodles and lobster specialties.

In Nabburg, Germany, Café “Zum Storch’n” has maintained the Viennese coffee house style for 45 years. Managed by Veronika Hock, the establishment continues to uphold the traditional atmosphere established by her parents, offering a sense of continuity and originality in a changing modern landscape.
