Vienna City Hall event faces scandal over sexualized ice cream slogans

A political controversy has erupted in Vienna following the distribution of ice cream with sexualized slogans at the 'Wienopolis' children's event held at the Vienna City Hall. The event, designed for children aged eight to 13, saw ice cream packaging featuring obscene phrases such as 'Lutsch dein Ding' and 'Saugen und lutschen erlaubt'.

The organizer, WienXtra, issued an apology, describing the incident as a 'big mistake that must not happen.' The organization stated that staff had been actively sorting out the problematic products throughout the week, but a mistake occurred toward the end of the event, leading to their accidental distribution. WienXtra also noted that the actual printed slogans did not match the descriptions provided to them in advance.

Political parties have reacted sharply. The FPÖ described the incident as 'simply disgusting' and a 'psychological transgression,' accusing the city government of failing to protect children from sexualization. The ÖVP has demanded a full investigation into the city's child protection concepts, questioning how the products were selected, approved, and ultimately distributed despite existing controls.
